Youth Participation
Last fall, CVRPC partnered with three area high school classes to assist us with the Plan Central Vermont project. Students from the Barre Technical Center designed our project logo. The final logo is featured below and will be used throughout our planning process and the life of the Plan. CVRPC also partnered with classes at Spaulding High School and Harwood Union High School to interview community members on their values and changes within the Region. To learn more about our student partners and watch community member interviews, click here.

Plan Central Vermont Vision
The Regional Plan Draft Review Committee has put together draft vision and guiding principles that will be used throughout the planning process. The vision is a compilation of the 2008 vision statement and regional values based on findings from the kick-off meeting survey and student interview projects. The draft vision states:

"The vision for the future of Central Vermont is to be a place that reflects the best of what the Green Mountain state has to offer—a place where opportunity and commerce thrive and residents innovate, using their land, skills, knowledge and strong work ethic to be prosperous; a place where all residents are healthy and connected to their community because their surroundings and transportation systems encourage interaction, recreation and access to housing, services and jobs; and a place where the strong connection between the health of our natural environment and our quality of life is grounded in our ethic and reflected by our ability to use energy efficiently, grow sustainably, and adapt our built environment for resilience in a changing landscape."
