Who doesn't love a sale?

All sales are a joy but how perfect would it be to find a great price for that dream holiday?

If you are thinking about Greece or Italy early 2015, it's not always the early bird who gets the worm. Amazingly Qatar have just announced a flight sale for travel up to June.  Wonderful. Of course, you must act quickly if you want to secure that perfect sale price.

Qatar is one of my favourite airlines at the moment with short connection times into Rome and also Athens - this is always important for me.  There's nothing worse - and I mean nothing - than waiting, waiting  waiting at an airport - dead time.

These sale prices are from Australia but if you live elsewhere, check the comparison websites for sales.

If you are thinking about our women's tour to Greece starting in Athens on the 30th May, this is the right time to book - what a great excuse to 'indulge' and enjoy a wonderful 15 day tour of Athens and the stunning Greek islands in the company of fun and like-minded women.  We only have 3 places remaining of this tour.

Some tips to secure a great flight deal:

Talk to a travel agent, they are up to date on all the latest sale specials.

 Be flexible with your dates.

Don't be specific about which day you will fly.  Tuesday and Wednesday are usually the cheapest days.

If you are booking online - don't rely on one website i.e., Expedia, Opodo, Zuji  etc.  Sometimes these sites won't have all the airlines that fly into your destination.

Booking too early is the same as booking too late - airlines know you really want to go and smell eagerness - and you know what that means.

Try looking at flights through comparison websites like Skyscanner, Kayak or Farecompare  They will have a wealth of information on the airlines that fly to where you want to go.

Sign up for alerts on airlines' websites - that way you'll be the first to know of a great sale.

When you are searching websites - delete all cookies regularly - websites will know you have been there before and might just put up that price. Unbelievable but true.

Direct and shorter flights are always the most expensive - try a stopover - it might just be another adventure.

Remember that budget airlines are not always mentioned on comparison websites as they won't pay commission - search online to see where the budget airlines will take you in Europe. If you aren't sure where budget airlines fly - just Google airlines that fly into..... Or check out the airport website - lots of information there. There are many budget airlines in Europe.

After all that research online and you have finally made your decision - book on the airline's website. After all, if they don't need to pay commission to a third party, they might just discount a little more.

Remember that it is easy nowadays to book your flight online, but if you work with a good travel agent they will help if you have trouble while on holidays - i.e., my flight is cancelled, when is the next flight out? A good agent is worth their weight in gold.

Our Women's Greek Indulgence Tour is just around the corner.

This new tour started 2 years ago and has been a great success. We are very happy to say that women who have travelled with us previously to Italy are now discovering Greece!  What a great advertisement. It is wonderful to welcome back friends.

Greece is amazing, so exciting with such wonderful and friendly people.

On this tour, our hotel Athens is in the best position, on the edge of the Plaka - great for shopping, eating and venturing out to the amazing ancient sites. We visit the new Acropolis museum which is wonderful. On Mykonos we stay near one of the best beach areas and not far from the gorgeous white-washed town of Chora.  In Santorini our hotel is a traditional cycladic cave house (yes, an actual cave) with magnificent views of the caldera, and in Crete we stay in two properties that are typical of the very beautiful Venetian town of Chania.

Great resource for travelling women.
What is a customised tour?

If the tours on our website look just the thing, but the dates don't fit with your schedule - we can customise a tour for you.  Your own private tour!  Of course, it won't have all of the inclusions as in the website but everything will be done for you and organised.  You will have the benefit of our extensive knowledge of the places you will discover, the help of our guides and drivers who have been working with us for years, recommendations for restaurants, attractions, off the beaten track towns etc., well, just about anything you'd like to experience.

We take the hassle out of planning a holiday!

So if you are keen on learning about: wine in Tuscany or the cuisine of the Amalfi coast,  where Michelangelo lived in Florence, what the ancient Florentines had for lunch, Pompei or Herculaneum or even  the markets of Naples with your own private guide - this just might be a great way to organise your own private tour.

You might be surprised at how affordable this is.

Discover the out of the way places on an Italian Indulgence Tour.
The great thing about a small group tour is that you discover the tiny towns that aren't on the tourist map - just like this one.  This is the entrance to the old town of Colle Val D'Elsa.  You can walk down the main street at any time of the day or night and you won't be run over by tourists or guides carrying those dreadful umbrellas. Yay!
