As I write this I am sitting in our perfectly placed hotel in Athens, the 5* Electra Palace Hotel in the Plaka, just about to start our Women's Greek Indulgence Tour. I've just flown in from Venice after our wonderful Ciao Bella Women's Tour in Italy.

Our Ciao Bella trip was amazing with lovely women from all over the world - such fun company and great travelling companions.  We enjoyed delicious authentic food and wine and the highlights of the trip included: special entry to the Vatican, boat trip to Capri, lunching in the ancient Monterinaldi winery villa and a private Grand Canal boat ride in Venice.

Our local guides and drivers are amazing and I'd like to thank each and everyone of them for help in putting this trip together.

I am very excited to be starting our second tour in Greece and the stunning islands of Mykonos, Santorini & Crete.  Can't wait for some sun, sand, sunsets of Santorini, Greek lamb, fascinating ancient history, amazingly brilliant colour, Greek dancing (?) and friendly smiles - Greeks are so hospitable.
The spectacular Acropolis which is visible all over the city of Athens is particularly beautiful at night.

Some interesting facts:
  • The word Acropolis comes from the Greek 'akron' - meaning edge, and 'polis' meaning city.  So 'city on the edge'.
  • Earliest occupation of the Acropolis is from the 4th millennium BC!
  • The buildings on the Acropolis date back around 400 BC, including the Parthenon.
  • The new Acropolis museum is absolutely wonderful......so give them back their 'Elgin Marbles' British Museum! (Actually they aren't marbles at all but a collection of sculptures from the Parthenon and other buildings from the Acropolis.) The new museum is waiting for them!
A section of frieze from the 'Elgin Marbles' collection in the British Museum.
Want to see where this frieze originally came from? We have a private tour to the new Acropolis Museum.
Our mixed Greek Indulgence Tour in September has 4 places remaining.

Is Positano the most stunning place to stay while on the Amalfi Coast?

Well yes, but that's not the only reason we stay here on our trips to the Amalfi Coast.

There are so many quaint villages to choose from including Sorrento, Amalfi (town), Praiano, Ravello - the list goes on. Why does Positano top my list? First and foremost - it's beautiful!  Check out the other reasons:
