Blackmagic Design - NAB 2014

Another very exciting NAB for Blackmagic Design this year. We have continued our rollout of 6G-SDI based products while also unveiling the worlds first 12G-SDI products. Instead of enclosing all of the product releases we have from the show, I have included a general breakdown below along with a dropbox link where you can access all of the press releases

At NAB 2014 Blackmagic Design has made some significant additions to its camera range:

The Blackmagic URSA: A high end, professional digital film camera designed to revolutionise the on set workflow, with a 4K sensor, global shutter and a wide 12 stops of dynamic range

  • Built to handle the ergonomics of large film crews, with each area of the camera divided into separate DoP, camera assistant and audio engineer work stations.
  • Larger professional size, with cooling space to facilitate higher frame rates
  • Modular camera turret, which includes the sensor, lens mount and lens control connections can be removed and replaced or upgraded in the future when new sensors are developed
  • Four models available: PL, EF, B4 lens mount versions and a HDMI model with no sensor and a ‘cheeseboard’ of mounting plates, which allows any third party camera to take advantage of Blackmagic URSA’s larger size and cooling

For post production, we have also announced DaVinci Resolve 11, a major update, which dramatically improves online editing features and adds photographer friendly colour correction tools. New collaborative workflow tools also allow multiple users to work simultaneously on the same timeline.

The full press releases, translations (where available) and images can all be downloaded from this Dropbox link.

For additional questions or further information, please contact the EMEA PR team on or We are both at the NAB show, but will try and respond as soon as possible.
