FOUNDERS WEEK

The Daemen Alumni office had a busy week of Founders events on campus, from the Distinguished Alumni Awards and the Scholarship Gala, to Daemen Day in Amherst.

Our campus Founders Week festivities kicked off with our Keynote Speaker Baratunde Thurston on September 20th. We then welcomed our annual Bell Ringing ceremony on September 29th where seven special guests rang the bell, denoting the decades since Daemen’s founding as Rosary Hill College in 1947. The ceremony was then followed by an additional 75 rings marking the University’s 75th Anniversary.

Thanks to our alumni who came to campus for these events. We would love to see more alumni back on campus for our week of festivities next year!

Please join our alumni, faculty and students for a networking and social gathering

Light hors d’oeuvres will be served. Cash bar available with beer and wine.

Walk begins at 12:00 pm from Alumni Lounge, Wick Student Center

Jenny was a student in the Health Care Studies (now Health Promotion) program, a tour guide with the Admissions Office, and member of the Step Team. Jenny is remembered by friends, family and those who knew her from her infectious smile and how she “lit up a room” when she walked in.

Fundraising Goal: $500 in donations to AFSP

Individuals who raise $150 will receive a t-shirt from AFSP.

Following the walk, participants are encouraged to gather in Wick Student Center Alumni Lounge for light refreshments, resources, and to celebrate Jenny’s life.

Janeen Bass ‘03 MS, RN, NPD-BC, CEN, SANE-A and Michele Natawora ‘10 MS, RN, NPD-BC, both graduates of the Master of Science Nursing Education program, recently had an innovation published by The Association for Nursing Professional Development titled “Nursing Professional Development Specialists Create a Digital Escape Room to fulfill a Nursing Annual Review.” Janeen is an adjunct faculty in the Nursing Department at Daemen and Michele works for Kaleida Health.
