Upcoming Classical and Jazz Concerts
On January 19th, the Roedde House Classical Series will kick off the new year with new talent.  As part of our young artist mentorship initiative, we host a yearly Rising Stars concert, and this year we welcome the very talented Artemisia Duo: Emily Richardson, flute, and Susan Xia, piano.  Both recent graduates of UBC, they will perform a water-themed program inspired by rain and the ocean and featuring repertoire by Debussy, Fauré, Mouquet, Barber, Piazzolla, and Ian Clarke.

The classical concert is on January 19th at 4pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, seniors and members. Show begins at 4 pm. Please arrive 15-20 minutes in advance for seat selection.

*These concert series would not be possible without the generous support of the McGrane-Pearson Endowment Fund and several private donors.*
Join us Thursday, January 9th from 7-9 PM in our historic parlour as we kick off a new year of our Jazz Concert Series with a performance by Bernie Arai's trio project: Much Wabi, with Chad Makela on bari sax and Chris Gestrin on piano.

The jazz concert is on Thursday January 9th at 7pm. Tickets are $15 for adults, $12 for students, seniors and members. Please arrive 15-20 minutes in advance for seat selection.

*These concert series would not be possible without the generous support of the McGrane-Pearson Endowment Fund, several private donors and the Metro Vancouver Cultural Grant.*

Welcome, Sheila!

Hi folks,

I’m Sheila Grant Duff, the new Community Engagement Coordinator here at Roedde House Museum. I am thrilled to be working in this interactive Victorian house museum. Roedde will provide me with the chance to apply my volunteer coordination experience from the Vancouver International Film Festival's 2019 season. I have been an active volunteer with Ivan Sayers and the Society for the Museum of Original Costume (SMOC) since 2013 and the Old Hastings Mill Store Museum since 2016. I began volunteering during tea and tours at Roedde House Museum in October, 2019 and was impressed with how dedicated and diligent the volunteers are here.

I am currently studying History at Langara College with the aspiration of transferring into UBC's Museum studies program. My focus lies in family and Vancouver history as told through artefacts and media. This makes Roedde House such a perfect fit for my passion for museums and interest in the stories that relate to Roedde house, the West End and early Vancouver history. I am also passionate about analogue photography, silent films and vintage fashion.
I look forward to meeting everyone!
