Dear Roedde House Museum community,

First of all - I want to thank you for your continuing support of the Roedde House Museum. We recently held our Annual General Meeting which was well attended and we brought on several new Board Directors to help continue to great work at the Museum. I also wanted to thank our staff - Sara Hepper and Sheila Grant Duff for their work in the past year. Their dedication, enthusiasm, passion, empathy, and work ethic has not gone unnoticed!

Now, for the not so great part.
With the recent public health concerns of the spread of COVID-19, we are implementing some notes of caution to our visitors and community:

Our hours may be limited depending on volunteer availability. Please check the website and social media for the latest scheduling update. We aim to announce by 12pm PST if there is a tour closure for that day. This is an unknown and fluid situation, we appreciate your flexibility and dedication to preserving public health.

To help prevent the spread of COVID-19, please postpone your visit to the museum if:

  • You have recently traveled from one of the zones with widespread cases of the virus

  • You are feeling unwell, having breathing problems or have a fever

We’re also asking visitors and staff to:

  • Wash hands thoroughly with soap and water for at least 20 seconds. We encourage you to use the washrooms in the Den upon arrival and before departure.

  • Be attentive to our staff sharing any guidance related to ensuring a healthy visit.

  • Avoid shaking hands, touching face with unwashed hands, and close contact with others who are sick.

  • Stay home if you are sick, feel unwell, or have any cold or flu symptoms.

Under normal circumstances we encourage you to interact with the artefacts but we ask that you refrain from touching any objects in the museum for the time being. This is for your health safety as well as for our volunteers and staff. We are taking extra steps at the museum to clean areas of heavy contact and encouraging our staff and volunteers to practice extra health caution (washing hands, wearing gloves) during their time in and outside of the House.

With best wishes,
Billie-Ann Woo
