Learning Together as a Family: Victorian Writing and Craft Making
On Feb 15th, 2020 as part of Family Day weekend, Our dedicated volunteers Christine, Paul, Peter and Terri hosted a free "old fashioned handwriting" workshop. It was very well attended with attendees learning how to use slates, quills, straight pens and ink. After mastering their penmanship, attendees crafted a Victorian-style Valentine and everyone shared a cup of tea. The youngest attendee was 19 months old and already quite skilled with a pen thanks to the aid of her father.
The event was made possible by the support of the Province of British Columbia through a BC family day grant.
