The Wyeths: A Family Legacy
Closing September 2, 2013
Fenimore Art Museum, Cooperstown, New York
COOPERSTOWN, N.Y. (8/23/2013) — Labor Day weekend marks the final opportunity to see The Wyeths: A Family Legacy, an exhibition exploring the work of three generations of artists from this prominent family. The exhibition at the Fenimore Art Museum in Cooperstown is one of the few public exhibitions to display the work of the family together and highlight their connections.
The Wyeths: A Family Legacy showcases works by Andrew Wyeth; his father, N.C.; his sisters Henriette and Carolyn; and his son Jamie. Works by Howard Pyle, who taught N.C. Wyeth, are included, as well as Peter Hurd, Henriette’s husband.
Guest curated by Megan Holloway Fort, Ph.D., the exhibition draws on loans from the Addison Gallery of American Art, the Brandywine River Museum, the Roswell Museum and Art Center, and the Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
