Polaris news & notes

  • We have created item templates for each library so you can add items quickly and easily. Please do not use On the Fly or ILL templates when adding local items to existing bib records. On the Fly records should only be made in the checkout field. For more information, view the video tutorial. Contact Karyn (kgoodwillie@prl.ab.ca) if your templates need to be adjusted. If you want training to add items, contact your PRL consultant.

  • The deadline to retrieve data from Web Reporter is April 30, 2019. This pertains to statistics that you may collect monthly or quarterly that were recorded in Horizon until we went offline on March 8th. We have pulled the necessary Horizon data for compiling your annual report statistics for 2019.

  • We have been working to smooth out ILL processes. When you check in an ILL in Leap, you will no longer be directed to send the item back to the external library. You will now see that the item is an ILL, and you can send it back to Parkland for processing.

  • Polaris tip sheets, video tutorials, and the full circulation manual are on the PRL Support Site under the Library How-to menu.

  • Are you lacking confidence in your knowledge of Leap? Looking for a little more dedicated time and guidance to practice working with the software? Reach out to your PRL consultant if you are interested in additional training or a refresher for your library staff.
