But seek (aim at and strive after) first of all His kingdom and His righteousness (His way of doing and being right), and then all these things taken together will be given you besides. So do not worry or be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will have worries and anxieties of its own. Sufficient for each day is its own trouble. Matthew 6:33-34

Quick Update

September 5th, 2013
Vol. I,  No. V
Dear  Friends,

At our Polish dinner a couple of weeks ago, the woman who allowed us the use of her driveway for our yard sale last month came to tell me an interesting story.  Apparently, her neighbor of several decades does not share the same faith in God that this woman and I share.  When the neighbor came to "shop" at our yard sale next door on the Friday of the sale, she remarked that it might rain, I simply told her that I was trusting God that it wouldn't rain until after 4p.m. on Saturday (when I assumed we'd be done with the sale and cleaned up).  If you know Flagstaff and you know this year, you know it's been an extra rainy year.  When the rains have come, they haven't been sprinkles--they have been downpours with thunder and lightning as well.

It did rain in Flagstaff; however, it didn't rain in that particular area of the city.  About 2:30 or 3:00 on Saturday, Tucker, Bethany (who was helping us that day) and I began to pack up in earnest as there hadn't been too many shoppers after 2p.m. and when they did come, we just worked around them.  We had nearly everything in the plastic bins and were moving the bins into the truck when the first drops of rain began to fall.  Soon, it was a downpour.  Bethany looked at her watch and announced it was 4:06 p.m.

Our friend's neighbor spoke to her later about the rain.  She said that when it began to rain, she also looked at her clock and noticed it was just after 4 p.m.  She was dumbfounded.

We had two rain free days.  Was it a fluke?  Was it magic?  I don't think so.  I think it was the hand of the mighty Creator God.  He stayed the rain as long as I'd asked Him to.  (Maybe we should have started cleaning up sooner! :)

I pray that this neighbor will begin to realize and understand that the God of the universe is in control and HE CARES about our needs and loves us…as a loving parent cares for their child.

This is the same God I am praying to for provision of all of our needs while we're in Poland.

Our needs updated….

After our last email to you, some friends emailed and pledged $1000 towards our journey.  WoW!  Also, another friend wrote and donated an item they've had in their garage unused.  We think we can sell this item for $500! This takes us to 69% and needing  $6,800.

Please continue to pray for us.  Meredith's stress and fatigue levels are high. Tucker is working overtime to get projects done for various individuals while traveling to and from the Valley and being a Dad.  The kids are also showing some signs of stress.  God is gracious and He listens to your prayers on behalf of us.

We have decided to take suitcases!  BUT, we only have one large lightweight suitcase.  Do you have a large (under 62" total dimensions) lightweight suitcase that you'd be willing to loan or give to us?  We can also use a few more carry-on size bags as we only have 2 and we are allowed 6.  These need to be 22" H x 16" W x 9" D or less.

We are also going to have another yard sale next Friday, September 13th here at our place.  Do you have anything that you're wanting to donate?  We'll take it!  Please just let us know if you'd like to drop it off or have us pick it up.

Don't forget, if you're available, we'd love to see you at our concert this Sunday....  Please let us know if you are able to come!

As always, there is more information on our website.  www.boonesnews.com

Thank you, thank you, thank you....We are humbled by the way God is providing through your hands and gifts....

Truly, we are only serving by HIS grace,

Tucker & Meredith
