It is free to anyone who subscribes through the DTAA website and advertising is free for DTAA members but there is a cost for non-members. AMBER GRAY TRAUMA WORK TRAINING: THE ART OF EMBODIED RESILIENCE: DANCE AND MOVEMENT APPROACHES TO PROMOTE WELL-BEING OF OUR CLIENTS AND OURSELVES
25th and 26th of June 2016
This workshop will provide theoretical, scientific, and contemplative rationale for the use of movement as measure of protection, self-care, and increased resilience, as well as an emergent best practice approach for therapeutic work with survivors of trauma. We will simultaneously learn breath, movement, rhythm and dance based practices that promote resilience and that can be used in therapeutic work with our survivor clients of all ages. Amber provides training and consultation nationally and internationally on somatic and creative arts psychotherapies with survivors of war, torture, and natural disasters. One of the primary focuses of her work is staff care and support programs for humanitarian workers in complex humanitarian emergencies. She has taken her work to almost forty countries. She is the Western Region MAL for the ADTA Board of Directors, and was the 2010 Outstanding Achievement Award recipient.

DANCE THERAPY RESEARCH GRANTS: HANNY EXINER MEMORIAL FOUNDATION.
We encourage you to consider making an application to the Hanny Exiner Memorial Foundation for a research grant in the next round. HEMF invites applications for research grants to undertake projects that could advance the field of dance movement therapy through evaluation, research and quality assurance activities. JOIN DTAA FACEBOOK GROUP
This initiative is a great way to spread the word about dance movement therapy, to interact with colleagues and to publicise upcoming trainings and events. All dance therapists are invited to promote or write about their work, ask questions, or make comments. Non- members of DTAA are very welcome to contribute and join in the dialogue. A new project, 'DMT Snapshots' is currently running on Facebook featuring short interviews with DMTs all over Australasia. If you are a DM Therapist and would like to be interviewed or find out more about this project please join and visit the DTAA Facebook Group page.
MAKE A CONTRIBUTION TO MOVING ON JOURNAL 2016
Whether member or non- member of the DTAA, you are invited to submit articles for our 2016 journal issue. The articles are peer-reviewed, but can also be less formal, such as letters to the editors on related topics. NEW RESOURCE: EDITED BOOK INCLUDING CHAPTERS ON DANCE MOVEMENT THERAPY:
Psychotherapy and Counselling: Reflections on Practice, (Noble & Day (Eds), (205) PACFA, Oxofrd University Press. This new edited collection provides a balance of engaging and in-depth stories and case studies from the inside of therapy. Representing the key practice modality sections of the Psychotherapy and Counselling Federation of Australia, the book explores examples from a range of therapeutic practices, grounded in the theoretical and evidence frameworks of the modality or approach and supported by clear and authoritative commentary. It includes two chapters by dance movement therapists: an overview of DMT as a form of psychotherapy and counselling in Australia (Kim Dunphy, Jane Guthrie and Sue Mullane) and a chapter on animation-based psychotherapy and counselling by Sandra Lauffenberger.
