New Participation Officer - introducing Angharad Griffiths

This month we are delighted to welcome Angharad Griffiths to our team. (Pictured right above, with colleague Anne Woods). She says: "I'm twenty four years old, and from Carmarthenshire. I graduated from university last year with a Psychology degree and have been volunteering for the last 15 months at Carmarthen MIND. My main role at the charity involved spending time with service users, talking (as many are very ostracised), help with any personal care and tasks such as letter writing or job applications, arts and crafts, any activities, helping with any general duties such as making people tea and coffee, and helping serve food at lunchtimeI was also appointed mental health mentor to help university students with their mental health problems at the University of Wales Trinity Saint David." Angharad is working three days a week (usually Mon - Wed) based at our Ddole Road offices. You can contact her by emailing: or ringing 01597 822191.

Angharad met the Powys individual reps at the recent Mental Health National Forum meeting in Llandrindod Wells. This Forum is where people in contact with services and those close to them meet to discuss shaping future services. It reports to the National Mental Health Partnership Board.
