Weekly Event: Charades+ 

Charades+, the physical communication improvisation game! If you love malding about misunderstandings in anime , then let's misunderstand each other in real life! This week we’ll be running Charades+ as the weekly activity. It's group based, and if you want an idea of how it goes, think telephone but with charades.


When: 5 PM - 9:30 PM on Friday, Oct 14th
Where: UBC Buchanan Building A

We'll also be hosting the usual Artist Meetup in A203 and Viewings in A201. The lineup for Viewings this week is: Koukyuu no Karasu ep2, Chainsaw Man ep1, Bakuretsu Tenshi ep1, and maybe even Pui Pui Molcar: Driving School!

Continuing on from last week, since we now have our membership cards, we’ll have a setup in A201 during our weeklies for members wishing to exchange their IOUs for full membership cards! Remember that if you haven't yet, you can purchase a membership card at any of our events, or DM an exec to arrange a time that works for you.

UBC Ani Halloween Social

UBCAni 2022 is BACK with our Halloween social! Make sure you're free on Saturday, October 29th, because you won't want to miss this! The exec team has been working hard to come up with a unique and interesting theme for this year's Halloween social, but we still need to work out a few rough edges here and there, so expect a full announcement soon!

The event will be hosted in the Nest, on the 2nd Floor, with the main event rooms being 2306/2309, as well as the performance theater. Also like our previous socials, we’ll be selling early bird tickets at a discounted rate!

Make sure to get your early bird tickets at our weeklies starting this Friday at our weekly on the 14th! Early bird tickets are discounted, and spots to attend are limited!!! There’ll be some fun activities, some light snacks and refreshments, and the social is a great opportunity to meet and make new friends, participate in fun activities and witness some really impressive cosplays! We’ll even be getting a performance from the UBCAni affiliated band, UBC Anime Music, and music by DJ Arka!

Halloween Social Volunteer and Cosplayer Registration

Do you wanna help out at our events, and do your part for the club? Well, for the Halloween social, we’ll need a bunch of extra pairs of hands to help out, so here’s your opportunity to do so! Register to be a volunteer at the form down below, and we’ll contact you if we end up selecting you to be a volunteer. Please be aware that as a volunteer, you will most likely miss out on the actual social, or only be able to watch and not participate.

Are you a professional or beginner cosplayer? Do you want to show off your skill or your hard work to a captive audience? Well, as with previous UBCAni socials, we’ll be hosting a Cosplay contest. There will be two winners, one for the best craftsmanship, and one for audience favorite. Register for the cosplay contest in advance at the form below! Unfortunately, we won’t be able to take cosplay registrations on the day of the contest, but you can still show up in cosplay!
