| UBCAni | Board Games Night

Salty you didn't get to beat that person last week at Smash? Show them up by proving your skill in Board Games instead. That way, you can at least demonstrate your superiority in the seldom explored space of 3D. We'll be setting everything up in Stir-it-up Cafe!

We'll be bringing board games courtesy of the UBC Wargamers and Mahjong tables from the UBC Mahjong Club! Feel free to bring your own games too, if there's something you'd like to play.

The type to get outed first during Mafia

On the Artists side, we're starting our Anthology by having an OC Workshop! Details below.

Showings + Artist Meetup

This week we'll be showing three shows that have basically nothing to do with another. Complain to Jack if you want this stuff to be themed more.

OC Workshop + Raffles!

As many of you might know, our artists create an Anthology every year.

This year, we'll be making it more collaborative by having our community submit OCs and have them interact in Art and Comics.

We'll be kicking it off this week with an explanation of the setting and a quick overview of Character Design. Everyone is welcome, including non-artists.

We'll also be holding Raffles for Inktober.
We'll post updates on our Facebook event page.

Artist's Spotlight

This week we have fanart of the Mai Sakurajima from Max, our DOC.
This also is a recommendation for the currently airing Seishun Buta Yarou ...

It features a snarky high-schooler who keeps meeting people with Adolescence Syndrome, a supernatural manifestation of the expectations in society. One girl starts to be erased from existence, and another loops the time around her subconsciously.

The chemistry in the dialogue is great and the main pair has so much snark it's palpable.
It's not for everyone, but please give it a try!
We accept anime-related photos, artwork, and other fanworks. Send in submissions for our weekly spotlight to or by Google form and we may include it in a future newsletter.

Details and restrictions here.
