Soda Fountain Update:

Work is underway at the new soda fountain and ice cream shop at the Floyd Country Store! Things are starting to take shape, and while we were taking out part of an old wall, we found an old spoon inside, from one of The Floyd Country Store's previous lives. It is always a treat to stumble upon a piece of the history of our building, and we're taking it as a good sign that this spoon turned up in the wall of the future soda fountain.
Also, our counter and table tops are ready to be moved into their new home and they are gorgeous! A very special thanks to Phoenix Hardwoods in Floyd for doing such a great job on these—we can't wait to see what they look like in the new space. Everything looks to be on schedule to open in early October, and we can't express how excited we are to share The Soda Fountain with you. We've got a whole book of new and creative recipes for soda floats, sundaes and old-fashioned desserts (homemade waffle cone, anyone?) and we're ready to try them out! Stay tuned for more news to come.
We are now open for dinner and offer additional homemade dinner specials Tuesday through Thursday from 5:00-9:00pm. Our full menu is also available for dinner, with made-from-scratch options for the whole family. See our menu online, and follow us on Facebook and Instagram for our updated specials.

**Notice:
we will be closing early (5:30pm) on Tuesday, August 27 to prepare for the evening's sold out concert.

TWIN CREEKS STRINGBAND
Old Time Dance
Saturday, September 28 @ 7:30pm

In the late 1970s, a group of neighbors and friends got together to play the music that had been passed down in the Dry Hill and Ferrum areas of Franklin County. Some of the musicians were falling behind on their timing one day while playing and having some fun, and one spectator commented that he was going to call the group the Dry Hill Draggers. Banjo player Jimmy Boyd and his brother Billy Boyd started the official Dry Hill Draggers band in 1981. The group flourished, and more than thirty years later, some of the Dry Hill Draggers members formed Twin Creeks Stringband, including Jared Boyd, grandson of Jimmy Boyd, a third generation claw-hammer banjo player; his dad Stacy Boyd on upright bass; Jason Hambrick on guitar and vocals; and Chris Prillaman on fiddle.

Admission: $8 at the door
