Hello friends and neighbors!

We are getting ready for spring and summer with some pretty significant projects here at The Floyd Country Store. We have started construction on a NEW KITCHEN at the back of the Store. For the last 4 years, our amazing team has prepared and delivered high quality food out of a closet kitchen, so this new space will make a huge difference! We look forward to new food options, extended hours (including new dinner hours) and expanding our catering offerings for pick up. We expect that our kitchen will be complete in a few months, with longer hours and offerings starting in May. Stay tuned; more updates to come!

Join us the first Saturday in March for the celebrated Floyd Radio Show. With three musical acts, comedy skits, jokes, stories and more, this is an evening that you won't want to miss! This month's guests include Tricia Spencer and Howard Rains, fiddlers and singers who preserve and build upon the traditions of their home states of Texas and Kansas. The husband and wife duo are known for their distinct twin fiddling and close-knit vocal harmony. The Sunny Mountain Serenaders will also be joining us, an old time trio of our own Mac Traynham, Richmond-based fiddler Mark Campbell and John Schwab on guitar.
Our third guest is talented singer-songwriter and banjoist Gina Furtado. Although based in traditional music, Gina's innovative and unique musicianship and songwriting makes a new musical statement that's influenced by emotion, is played with the highest skill, and expresses an enormous verve and vitality.

High Fidelity is a classic bluegrass band of stellar musicians and singers who are steeped in the sounds of tradition and outstanding in their field. They draw much of their inspiration from bands like Don Reno & Red Smiley, The Stanley Brothers, The Louvin Brothers, Jim & Jesse, and a host of lesser known regional artists from the same era. Many have described them as the new Johnson Mountain Boys, interpreting classic era bluegrass through the fresh, young perspective of today’s generation. Maybe it is this quality that makes High Fidelity so warmly received and widely loved by every audience they perform for – both by the grandparents and the grandchildren.
