ANNOUNCING: Béla Fleck & Abigail Washburn - August 27
We're thrilled to announce that on Tuesday, August 27, we will present an intimate concert with Béla Fleck and Abigail Washburn at The Floyd Country Store!

Fleck and Washburn met at a square dance and began playing music together a dozen years ago, beginning with the Sparrow Quartet. They married shortly thereafter and became parents to a cute little tot. They’ve been touring the globe as a duo for years, almost nonstop but for each other’s performances with various other musical iterations: Béla with the likes of Béla Fleck and the Flecktones, Chick Corea and Chris Thile, among many others, and Abigail with Wu Fei (a master of the ancient 21-string Chinese zither), The Wu-Force and Uncle Earl.

Lauren and Leanna are twenty-two year old twin sisters from Sardis, Ohio, who love and perform the traditional style of bluegrass music. They have been greatly influenced and inspired by the sounds of Bill Monroe and his Blue Grass Boys, Hazel and Alice, and the Carter Family, and strive to carry forth those traditional sounds established so long ago. Accompanied by a full band, The Price Sisters’ sound is original and fresh, while also capturing the essence of the traditional style of bluegrass music laid down by Bill Monroe and his disciples.

The Price Sisters play "Bluegrass Breakdown"
Saturday, June 1 @ 7:30pm

It’s rare to find such mature and confident voices in such young artists—whose music springs so organically from a grassroots connection to the traditional music community in which they were raised. Since the release of 'Time is Everything' Leva and Calcagno have toured as a duo across Canada, the US, and the UK, and received wide critical praise. Rolling Stone Country wrote that the album “shines a light on the past without giving up its place in the present” and Wide Open Country called the record “a triumph of lyricism and musicianship.” As individuals, they have performed with Elvis Costello, Rhiannon Giddens, Donna the Buffalo, and Bruce Molsky to name just a few. To this collaboration they bring both the steady hands of experience and a refined taste for American music, yet still a youthful abandon that can’t be forced.

Kenny and Amanda Smith
Saturday, June 15 @ 7:30pm

The Kenny and Amanda Smith Band combines gutsy, heartfelt vocals, brilliant instrumental talents and a powerful, contemporary sense of song choice and arrangement into one of the most compelling new sounds in bluegrass today.

A creation of the intensely personal musical and romantic connection between Kenny and Amanda, the band shares an all-too-rare sense of intimacy and cohesion where each musician feels an almost telepathic connection. Musicians call it being in the groove, where the group collectively accents each beat in precisely the same way. With Kenny leading the way on guitar, this band never has trouble finding the groove.

Saturday, June 22 @ 7:30pm

Flatpicking guitarist Wyatt Rice will be performing at the Floyd Country Store on Saturday June 22nd along with guitarist Will Cassell, in a tribute to Tony Rice’s new acoustic style. This signature sound is inspired by a blend of jazz, bluegrass, and classical styles, prevalent on Tony’s album “Backwaters,” which Wyatt played on when he was 17. He has now taken the style to reach new heights in flat picking; playing anything from adaptations of jazz standards, to original arrangements, to the traditional bluegrass that Wyatt is best known for.
