At Fine Balance Yoga we teach therapeutic yoga classes to trauma survivors, teaching them healthy self-regulation strategies to empower
them to live connected and embodied lives. We also
train yoga teachers and clinicians in the trauma-informed yoga theory and techniques required to support their clients in their healing, long-term stability and recovery.

"When a person experiences traumatic events, the aftermath can be extremely debilitating. Trauma not only affects the mind, but can have lifelong effects on the body. Dr. Bessel van der Kolk is a psychiatrist who has been treating people with post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and other types of trauma for more than 40 years. He tells Here & Now’s Jeremy Hobson about new ways to treat trauma, focusing on ways to making the body feel safe." Click here to listen.

A comprehensive, experiential and innovative therapeutic Yoga training program developed in response to the growing body of research which points to yoga as a powerful adjunct to other therapies when working with groups presenting with depression, anxiety, addictive behaviors and trauma. Yoga is now widely regarded as being particularly effective in the stabilization and healing process of individuals with emotional well-being challenges. Participants will become specialized in yoga-based techniques, methodologies, philosophies and practices and will learn to integrate these skills into their yoga teaching and therapeutic practices.
