At Fine Balance Yoga we teach therapeutic yoga classes to trauma survivors, teaching them healthy self-regulation strategies to empower them to live connected and embodied lives. We also train yoga teachers and clinicians in the trauma-informed yoga theory and techniques required to support their clients in their healing, long-term stability and recovery.
RACHEL YEHUDA —
How Trauma and Resilience Cross Generations
Genetics describes DNA sequencing, but epigenetics sees that genes can be turned on and off and expressed differently through changes in environment and behavior. Rachel Yehuda is a pioneer in understanding how the effects of stress and trauma can transmit biologically, beyond cataclysmic events, to the next generation. She has studied the children of Holocaust survivors and of pregnant women who survived the 9/11 attacks. But her science is a form of power for flourishing beyond the traumas large and small that mark each of our lives and those of our families and communities.

Ocean & Crow yoga/space,
An afternoon of space-making practices drawn from yoga, tailored specially for mothers. No matter what age our child/ren and how busy our schedule, time spent in the company of other mothers, engaging in practices that can nourish, uplift and re-balance is time wisely spent - for oneself as well as those we share our lives with.
*Please note SPACE is for mamas to enjoy time together without children.
Visit our website at www.finebalanceyoga.ca for further information about any of the above events, to book community classes, a workshop for trauma survivors or a training for clinicians and/or yoga teachers.
In gratitude, Nicole, Sarah & Marcia.
