Hello and Happy New Year from our team here at the University of Saskatchewan (USask)!

As the new year begins, we are excited to continue to work with you and your colleagues to encourage students to pursue post-secondary education and contribute in their own way to solving some of the world's challenges.

February 15 application deadline

In the USask calendar, February 15 is a key application deadline. It is the deadline for entering students to apply for admission to any program to be eligible to apply for USask's broad range of scholarships and bursaries, the Competitive Entrance Awards, valued between $500-$32,000.

It is also the deadline to apply for admission to the following programs for the 2021 Fall Term:

For international students, February 15 is the deadline to apply for admission to be eligible for consideration or to apply for international student awards.

USask launches new Instagram channel for future students!

USask has just launched a new official Instagram channel (@usask.future.students).

The channel makes it easy for prospective students, counsellors, agents and parents, both in Canada and abroad, to interact with USask colleges and recruiters. The account will share information about USask admissions, applications, entrance scholarships, recruitment events and Q&A sessions about these topics with USask colleges and recruiters.

Engineering: It's more than you think

Join us for our YouTube Livestream Event on Feb. 10 from 4 to 6 pm CST-SK Time.

Do you know students who don't know what to do after graduation? Have they dismissed engineering because they think it's just math and science? Tell them about Engineering: It's more than you think, a YouTube livestream event where they can learn just how diverse engineering is. From finding new ways to detect breast cancer to saving horses; turning waste into fuel and making safe drinking water – these are all stories from USask Engineering difference makers.

Come meet our students, alumni, and researchers and learn how they are transforming our world in some unexpected ways. This event is open to all students, parents, and educators.

Virtual Education Info Sessions

Jan 21, Jan 27, Feb 2 and Feb 8

Students thinking of applying to the College of Education are invited to join us for a virtual information session!

Representatives from the College of Education will share a brief presentation about the Bachelor of Education (BEd) degree program, admission requirements, and the various program route options offered at the University of Saskatchewan. A question and answer period will follow the presentation.

Schulich Leader Scholarships school nomination deadline: January 27, 2021

Schulich Leader Scholarships are Canada’s most coveted undergraduate STEM scholarships.

In 2020, one hundred scholarships were awarded to entrepreneurial-minded high school graduates enrolling in a science, technology, engineering or math program at 20 partner universities across Canada, including the University of Saskatchewan.

Every high school in Canada can nominate one graduating student each year to apply for the scholarship, and each partner university can provide between two and 10 Schulich Leader Scholarships each year. School nominations are due January 27, 2021.
