Fall Term 2020

On behalf of the University of Saskatchewan (USask), we hope both you and your students are doing well as we approach the end of a school year that was anything but ordinary.

At USask, we are looking forward to continuing to welcome new students in a remote teaching and learning environment, and offering both long-standing and new supports to facilitate students' transition to university.

While final decisions are still being made, most students should plan for instruction that is entirely remote. Colleges/schools are communicating with students directly about plans for the fall term, and we can confirm that all first-year courses in direct-entry colleges (Agriculture and Bioresources, Arts and Science, Education, Edwards School of Business, Engineering and Kinesiology), as well as programming at the USask Language Centre, will be offered entirely remotely.

Please read through and consider sharing the updates below with your students, and refer those planning to attend USask this fall to our New Students page, students.usask.ca/new, for need-to-know information for the incoming class of 2020.

If you have any questions, please contact us at admissions@usask.ca or (+1) 306-966-5788.

Admissions update

Many programs at USask are still accepting applications. These are the deadlines to apply to begin studies in Fall 2020.

Since first-year class registration opens on June 13, students are encouraged to apply earlier when possible.

How to apply
2020-21 Tuition rates and student fees

Due to the impacts of COVID-19 on students, USask is implementing a tuition freeze for 2020/21 for a majority of its programs. USask has also reduced several student fees for the Fall Term 2020. Tuition rates and students fees are available on the tuition website.

First-year class registration opens June 13

It's time for new USask students to start planning what classes they are going to register in for the 2020 fall and 2021 winter terms.

Students are encouraged to save their draft class schedules in PAWS using the new Plan Ahead tool, which will make registering for classes easier.

If students decide not to use the Plan Ahead tool, they should still plan ahead by recording the term, course reference number (CRN), subject, course number, section and the days and times of each class they would like to take.

Detailed information for students, including video tutorials is available on our classes and registration page.

The last day for new Arts and Science, Agriculture and Bioresources, Engineering and Kinesiology students to sign up for a Learning Community is                 Thursday, June 11 at 11:59 pm.
Confirmation of Enrolment Letter

If students need to prove to a person or organization that they are a student, they can request a Confirmation of Enrolment letter. Students can request a Confirmation of Enrollment letter through the Registration channel in PAWS
Help us celebrate our graduating class of 2020

Although we can't yet honour the achievements of our spring graduates in person, we can celebrate their extraordinary efforts online.

We invite you to help us celebrate the class of 2020 (which includes some of your former students!) by posting messages on social media using the #USaskClassOf2020.

Be as creative as you'd like; share advice, sing a song or draw a picture—it's up to you!

You can also incorporate USask themed GIFS by searching “USask” on Instagram, Snapchat and TikTok. We will link to your posts on our graduation celebration website

Participate in U-Start online

U-Start is an online pre-orientation to help new USask students prepare for university.

New students can participate in U-Start by joining online sessions and by engaging in online resources (videos, podcasts, etc.).

We strongly encourage all new students to participate in U-Start, regardless of what term they plan to begin their studies at USask.

By joining online sessions, students will be able to connect with their classmates, advisors and student service providers to ask questions and learn important information. Online sessions run May 25 – June 12, 2020.

If you have any questions, please contact us at ustart@usask.ca
