This Sunday is Mother's Day!
For nearly 49 years, I've enjoyed the privilege and blessing of having a godly, generous, and great-hearted mother. We haven't always agreed on things and we've undoubtedly made each other a little crazy at times, but I've never doubted her love, her readiness to forgive, or her willingness to help. So this week I'm sending a little shout-out to my Mom Jessie (Hasmig in Armenian).
To the other mothers reading this newsletter: God bless you. Whether you're a new mom or a great-grandmother, thank you for making this world a warmer, safer, and softer place.
To those who, like me, are not mothers, whether by choice or by circumstance: It's okay. You're not less-than in any way. You can (and probably do) pour love into the lives of other people's children—or simply into the lives of other people.
To those who may have grown up not knowing their mothers, or with mothers who did not meet your needs: I'm sorry. I pray you will find comfort and healing in knowing God, the heavenly Father who never fails and never leaves us.
I wish all of you a sun-kissed and joy-filled week! More fun stuff below! :)
MUSIC: 2CELLOS — I've always loved the cello more than any other instrument (which is why I'm a big fan of the ironically named Piano Guys). I knew of 2CELLOS (a Croatian duo) but hadn't really sought out their music until last week. I particularly like their 2017 album Score, which features themes from movies such as Chariots of Fire, Schindler's List, and Love Story. (Speaking of movies, I've never seen the latter two. Might be something to do this summer.)
