The world has changed drastically these past few weeks and we find ourselves seeking ways to adjust to the current times. We are re-imagining every aspect of our lives and for the Korean American Family Service Center (KAFSC), this new normalcy has been a challenge and, we too, are pivoting and adapting.
Under normal circumstances, KAFSC would be in the final preparations for our 31st Annual Benefit Gala. With more than 600 anticipated guests, special performers, and a long list of auction items and raffle prizes, it would have been not only an evening to remember, but another successful endeavor. Our annual fundraiser has been a longstanding tradition which brings together our strong community and generates invaluable support for our work. These funds allow KAFSC to be at the forefront of helping our immigrant survivors who are among the most vulnerable. Therefore, the loss of our annual fundraiser cuts even deeper at this particular time in history as we navigate through the worst global crisis in modern history.
Nonetheless, our work must continue. KAFSC is, more than ever, committed to our mission to end domestic violence, sexual assault, and child abuse.
Even in times like these our survivors are resilient and moving forward towards a path to economic freedom and independence. In the midst of this upheaval four clients have found employment through KAFSC’s one-on-one individualized job counseling service. We joyously celebrate these successes and firmly recognize that this is a testament of our commitment to our mission.
So Give Help for Hope to support these resilient survivors today! Your donation will provide continuity for essential programs and services, like KAFSC’s Economic Empowerment Program.
