A Note From Our Vice-President

Hope you are all enjoying this season of glorious colors:  beautiful balloons, lovely lightening light shows, remarkable rainbows and flaming fall foliage.
FWNA would like to give a big shout out of appreciation to all of our neighbors who help in our Neighborhood Clean-Up. Having a clean neighborhood improves the quality of life for all of us.  For those of you who were unable to make it, please spend a few moments in the next week to pick up trash and pull weeds on your block and throughout the Fair West Neighborhood.
We hope that you will join us for the FWNA General meeting on Thur.,        Oct. 19th at 6:30 pm.  This event will take place at the EXPO NM Alice K. Hoppes African American Pavilion, (free parking, enter gate 3 off Copper and proceed east)
Because of neighbors' concerns regarding the increase of homeless visitors to our neighborhood, the focus of this meeting will be addressing resources and understanding of this population and how we make sure every one feels both safe and welcomed.  Speakers will include representatives from our City Councilor office, APD Crisis Outreach Program, the San Juan Friary, and Health Care for the Homeless. Please come and invite your neighbors.
We also look forward to seeing you at the popular, annual Scary Supper in Fox Park on Halloween.  A free dinner of hot dogs, baked potatoes and salad for all.  Please come in costume. Volunteering for this event is fun and easy.                  If you are interested in helping, please email Carl

We appreciate it if you will share this newsletter with neighbors who are not on our email list serve and encourage them to sign up by giving us their email.
Thank you for being a good neighbors,
Dorothy L. Kerwin
