As 2016 draws to a close, I just wanted to say a very big thank you to all our supporters and partner organizations.
It's a rare community that works as closely and collaboratively as Tri-Cities does, where the best interests of the
as a whole overshadows an individual organization's goal. I'm proud to be part of this amazing group of people and
continually astounded at what we can accomplish when we work together!
The Tri-Cities Literacy Committee worked hard to deliver a variety of literacy opportunities in 2016.
Here are some of the things we did:
~Distributed 4 grants for Little Free Libraries
~Participated in 7 Ready Set Learns at elementary schools
~Participated in 10 Family Play & Learn events at Coquitlam Centre
~Held a Canada Day picnic for over 500 Adult students and their families who are learning English
~Brought you Stories Galore and More to five parks over 6 weeks in the summer
~Participated in 8 Neighbourhood Nights events
~Participated at the Port Moody Ribfest
~Provided 320Books for Babies bags for parents of newborns in the Tri-Cities
~Participated in numerous Community Events and promoted the importance of literacy
~Brought you this monthly Literacy Newsletter
Thank you to all of you who help support the literacy needs of our community members. Let's continue to work together in 2017 for improved literacy for all.

I couldn't resist adding this photo of a group of boys from a Port Moody Hockey team who, after climbing the Coquitlam Crunch, took a break to read at one of our Little Free Libraries!!
