As a former accountant, I believe everyone needs to have a strong foundation in Financial Literacy. The Federal Government has some fantastic resources to help with this process.
There are weekly subthemes that focus on the benefits of money management, including reducing debt and saving for the future.
On November 2nd, there was a Refugee Support Forum hosted by TCLIP - the Tri-Cities Local Immigration Partnership. It was attended by about 60 people representing various levels of governments and many Tri-Cities service providers whose services are directly or indirectly related to refugees. Presentations were made by a number of the organizations involved with TCLIP. Attendees learned more about the Tri-Cities' approach to refugees as well as the current landscape of settlement services for refugees. We then had table discussions on strengths and opportunities with regard to serving refugees. It was an enlightening experience for all!! Thank you so much for the opportunity to attend!
