 Literacy News for May

Screen Free Week - May 5 - 11

In a coordinated effort to spread the message throughout the Tri-Cities about the need for children to balance ‘screen time’ with ‘real time’, the Coquitlam Optimists, Coquitlam School District, Tri-Cities Early Childhood Development Committee, and Tri-Cities Middle Childhood Matters have partnered to launch the “Unplug & Connect” initiative.

If you would like some more info and/or resources about Screen Free Week click here.   For a great five minute (spoken word) video about looking up instead of down at your screen, click here.

Spreading the Word about Family Literacy at the

Healthy Kids Fair  in Coquitlam

On April 24th over 400 children and adults visited the Healthy Kids Fair at the Pinetree Community Centre in Coquitlam.  This was a great opportunity for the Tri-Cities Literacy Committee to spread the word about Family Literacy.
