Still cannot believe that in just over two months Long Street Blues Club will be ten years old and going from strength to strength.
We have three blockbuster gigs to celebrate that landmark.
Saturday 24th March Atomic Rooster
with acoustic support from Anna Neale
Now fronted by seventies original members Pete French and Steve Bolton they still are at the top of their game, they recently went down a storm at the Butlins Blues and Rock Festival in January this year.
Formed out of the remnants of the Crazy world of Arthur Brown with the likes of Vincent Crane and Carl Palmer they made an instant impact with the classic rock audience of the time. Several classic albums followed together with two hit singles Tomorrow Night and Devils Answer.
As you cannot probably guess, there has been a great deal of interest for this show already, so make sure you get your tickets early. We do not expect to be selling many if any on the night!
Saturday 14th April IAN SIEGAL BAND
with support from The Dawn Brothers
Without a doubt he is recognised as the premier contemporary British blues performer playing today. With over twenty years of solid gigging behind him, his great young band take to the road in support of his new album.
In 2018 he will be touring a new album, his first studio recording of new songs in six years. Produced by American Jimbo Mathus, it is classic Siegal. Every song written or co-written by Siegal and full of the dark and light, clever word play and rough-hewn voicebox he is known for.
It also marks the first studio recording with the band he hooked up with in 2013. Frequent touring has evolved a distinctive sound featuring Dusty Ciggaar’s tex-mex infused guitar licks.
Classic Rock tags Siegal “a national treasure”
America’s Blues Bible says “vast talent”
MOJO magazine ranks him “the cleverest writer and most magnetic blues performer in the UK.”
He has taken his music to more than 45 countries and presided over a trophy haul that includes 11 British Blues Awards, three European Blues Awards, two Mojo Blues Albums Of The Year, not to mention three US Blues Music Awards nominations - an unprecedented nod for a non-American.
We are also very pleased to welcome a great young Dutch band The Dawn Brothers who Ian has taken under his wing to support him on this tour.
This is without doubt a peach of a gig and again demand has been very big with requests from all over the place for tickets.
Sunday 29th April Tenth Anniversary party Blues Caravan Tour with Bernard Allison, Mike Zito and Vanja Sky
No support doors 7.45pm show starts approx 8.15pm
Simply Blues Heaven to celebrate our ten years of putting on live music we have a package of some of the great US blues performers around all on one bill.
Bernard Allison has followed in his father Luther’s footsteps to become one of the great blues performers around. Add to the mix Texan Mike Zito from Royal Southern Brotherhood and new girl on the block Vanja Sky you have an explosive cocktail of talent. Playing on their own together and finishing up with a great jam session we could not of wished for a better gig to showcase our ten years as a live music venue.
They are doing very few shows on this tour in the UK so demand for this gig has been very strong.
All tickets are £16.00 in advance. Tickets available online from here.
For a small town like Devizes the quality of these shows eclipses anything much larger towns can provide.
