This is what Atlatszo reported last week

Our story on the change of ownership of ATV is a big hit in the justice system

Requests for corrections and lawsuits against a press product are part of the normal media business. At Atlatszo, we do not bore our readers with the details of this, because we can defend the vast majority of disputed reports before the courts and authorities without any particular difficulty. However, for the first time in the ten years of Átlátszó’s existence, the majority of our ongoing press law cases – six different proceedings in total – have been brought against a single article. Therefore, we thought that it would not be uninteresting to report on the status of the litigation between the Faith Congregation (and Sándor Németh) and Átlátszó.

There is no settlement-level data on the number of people vaccinated in Hungary

Hungary is close to reaching 4 million inoculated people, so the question arises whether there are territorial differences in the vaccination campaign. Are there any differences between the districts of Budapest or different county seats? At the end of March, we contacted the National Center for Public Health (NNK) and the National Healthcare Service Center to ask about the vaccination process in larger Hungarian cities. We also asked the National Healthcare Service Center but we still didn’t get the settlement level data on vaccination.

Investigating and explaining the pandemic – Atlatszo publishes 2020 Annual Report

Investigative reporting on Covid-19 was in high demand in 2020 since most of the Hungarian press did not cover the pressing issues during the lockdown. We have learned if you have enough courage to report on problems during a crisis your audience will reward you. The  Covid-19-tracker ‘Koronamonitor’ was by far the most successful data journalism feature we ever did. This made us realise that data journalism can be very important to our work. Prior to this, we saw data journalism as a ‘nice to have’ add-on feature but not a necessity. This was the first case where data journalists played a central role in Átlátszó and were the most important element of our coronavirus content.
