Our next assembly is on Sunday 27th July, at our usual venue of St. Andrew's Church, Waterloo St., BN3 1AQ. We'll be exploring the theme of "journeys" with uplifting songs, inspiring readings and a guest talk from Dave Waller.

After the assembly, assuming the weather is fine, we'll head down to Hove lawns at the bottom of Waterloo Street for a picnic. Do bring some food & drink and come and join us!

Remember, our assemblies are always on the 4th Sunday of the month. The next 3 dates are: July 27th, August 24th & September 28th.

A regular social for anyone who wants to hang out, chat, meet new people and generally shoot the breeze with other lovely Brighton folk.

The idea is that on the third Thursday of the month, anyone who is keen can come along to the Earth and Stars on Windsor Street, upstairs from 7.30pm for a drink and a chance to meet and chat with other members of the growing Sunday Assembly Brighton community.

It's very informal - no structure, no agenda, just a social with other like minded people. Everyone is welcome, regardless of whether you've been to a Sunday Assembly Brighton event before.

Sunday Assembly Brighton is run by a small team of volunteers. We're formalising the way the organisation works to help it continue to grow. To this end, we're holding our first AGM after the assembly on Sunday 28th September starting at 1pm.

We'll be publishing more information about what the committee does, the various roles, a financial report and our constitution in due course.

If you'd like to stand for election to the committee, please keep an eye out on our website. We'll publish more details there soon.

Although AGMs are traditionally a dull affair, please do try to make time to come along. It will be brief, but it's important - this is your Sunday Assembly and we want you to help steer its development. Plus there will be a free buffet lunch :-)
That's all for now. Don't forget to stay connected with us via Facebook, Twitter and the website for all our latest news.

We look forward to seeing you soon!
Best wishes,

Sunday Assembly Brighton

One of the regular sections of our assemblies is called "This much I know". It's an opportunity for someone to speak about a personal experience, like Suzanne's amazing story about her husband's kidney donation. If you have an inspiring story or funny anecdote which you'd like to share, we'd love to hear from you.

As always, we need more volunteers! This is your assembly and you are part of the growing Sunday Assembly Brighton community. If you feel able to give some time to help with the running of the assemblies and the organisation in general, please get in touch. We're looking for musicians for the band, cake makers, general helpers on assembly days, people who are good with web stuff... Anyone with some time and enthusiasm basically!

We'd like to know a little more about you and what you want from Sunday Assembly Brighton, so that we can make it as awesome as possible. If you've got a couple of minutes to spare, please complete our 5 question survey here.

We're currently in talks with a couple of local churches about using their spaces to offer a drop in centre for the homeless community of Brighton & Hove. This would be joining an existing system operated by several local churches and a fantastic opportunity for the Sunday Assembly community in Brighton to offer a valuable support service to vulnerable people in the local area.

For us to assess whether this is something we can offer, we need to get a sense of how many people would be willing to give up their time to help. If you feel you would be able to give 3 hours on a Sunday afternoon once every 6 weeks, please let us know. There is no commitment at this stage, we're just working out whether it's possible. Please email us with the subject line "homeless volunteering" here.
