EYCN DELEGATES NEWSLETTER · March 2017
Dear EYCN delegates and friends,

Welcome to the March edition of the EYCN newsletter.

EYCN promotes actions aiming to engage and involve more young chemists in activities such as conferences, meetings, and events that have chemistry as central subject.

In order to increase the visibility of the EYCN across Europe, we would be very grateful if you could share our Facebook page, Twitter and LinkedIn page with your respective societies or companies. As you will see, we are currently featuring a "Pick of the Week" photo on Facebook as one way of increasing visibility. We will also be starting a monthly competition using our social media pages, so keep a look out! If you have any other ideas for making the EYCN more well-known across Europe, please get in touch.

1) The 2nd Employment Survey for European Chemists (ESEC2) is now open, and we’d encourage everyone in the EYCN to take part here. The Joint Research Centre of the European Commission commissioned the first survey in 2013. The survey is strongly supported by EuCheMS. In the first survey in 2013, over 4000 chemical scientists, across 90% of EuCheMS member organisations, took part. The survey only takes 10 minutes to complete!

2) Congratulations to the winner of the NATCHEMDRUGS International Award for Young Chemists ELENA LENCI in recognition for the best research activity in the field of synthesis of drugs from natural products. Pictures of the event are below.

2) The DA will be preceded by the 19th Postgraduates Conference on Chemistry, from 2nd to 4th May 2017. The registration fee for the DA includes your participation to the full conference, which you are encouraged to attend.

3) The registration fee for the DA (for EYCN Delegates) is 140€ and includes three nights accommodation in Santa Marina Hotel (http://www.santamarinahotel.gr/). You will find all the information regarding the registration and fees on the following website: http://www.chemistry.uoc.gr/eyechems/.

If you have any news or updates that you would like to share with EYCN, please feel free to email me at communications@eycn.eu. We want to stay in touch with all of you and aim to improve communication across Europe.

Best wishes,

The Communications Team
