What is it going to look like.....

This will be the third year that I have had the opportunity to create a wreath for the charity auction for the Boys and Girls Club of Cathedral City.  In the last couple years my inspiration start points were a) how were wreaths made before you went to get the parts at the store? and b) what do I have that's round that I can decorate?  This year I revisited the second question and came up with a blank.  So, I decided to think outside the circle and make a rectangular wreath.
This is not the first time I've attached panels to an old frame, though once again I needed assistance with sawing the small parts (thank you, John Weidenhamer).  After I'd attached the panels, I wasn't happy with the fact the screws would still be visible, so I used an acrylic sand texture coat which did a reasonable job.
And now the challenge - what to paint.... The wreath will be auctioned at the Mary Pickford Theater on Wed Dec 3rd, 6-9pm.  But you can actually see the finished creation today on the front page of my website
If you'd like to have some fun creating your own watercolor collage, I will be running two workshops at Incredible Artist in Cathedral City this month - Dec 3rd and 10th. You can see more information about the class on my website here.

In addition I have another few things happening:
Dec 2nd - Jan 6th; Solo show, Borrego Springs Library, Borrego Springs, CA
Dec 5th, 6:30pm: Featured poet; poetry reading, Vanguard Gallery, Moreno Valley, CA.
Dec 13-14th:  Desert Art Festival, Frances Stevens Park, Palm Springs, CA.
Skies of Peace and Passion is now available on Kindle!
