CIT Careers & Employability Fair 2018

The CIT Careers & Employability Fair 2018 took place on September 27 at the Bishoptown Campus. It was the largest fair to date, with over 100 companies participating. The annual Fair gives students an opportunity to network and connect with prospective employers and learn about the graduate and placement opportunities on offer.

We Are Cork - A New Brand For a Growing Region
 
In one of a series of videos for We Are Cork Donal Sullivan of Johnson Controls discusses the company's relationship with Cork Institute of Technology.
Cork Institute of Technology is among the key stakeholders who have joined forces to unite the Cork region under the We Are Cork brand. This approach, the first of its kind in Ireland, has been hailed by Tánaiste Simon Coveney as "a brilliant initiative to bring together under one banner everything that makes Cork great".

CIT Project Spraoi: Key Findings and Future Directions
Cork Institute of Technology Department of Sport, Leisure and Childhood Studies (SLCS) hosted the Project Spraoi Research Forum: Key Findings and Future Directions earlier this month.
The Project Spraoi initiative is funded and evaluated by the Department of SLCS and is coordinated by a team of researchers in CIT. It aims to positively influence the overall health of primary school children by promoting physical activity and healthy eating.

MSc in Digital Marketing Strategy - Research Showcase
The first Action Research Showcase for the MSc in Digital Marketing Strategy took place in CIT’s Curve Gallery earlier this month. The MSc Digital Marketing Strategy cohort are the first to complete the part-time course and proudly presented their work via a poster presentation, the penultimate assessment in their two-year journey.

Lean Sigma Graduation Ceremonies in Cork and Dublin 
Students of CAMMS (Centre for Advanced Manufacturing & Management Systems) celebrated their graduation last month in ceremonies held in both Cork Institute of Technology and Symantec Dublin. The graduation ceremonies saw over 70 students receive their certificates in Lean Sigma (YellowGreen and Black Belt) from Dr. Ger Kelly, Head of The Department of Mechanical, Biomedical, and Manufacturing Engineering at CIT.

Springboard+

September sees the return of the Springboard+ upskilling initiative at Cork Institute of Technology. Through the scheme, co-funded by the Irish Government and the European Social Fund, CIT offers courses at certificate, degree and masters level in areas where employment opportunities have been identified.
