Deadline extended: EAfA awards
For those who are still thinking of applying to the EAfA Excellence awards, we have good news: deadline for applications has been extended until 02 October, Monday. 
You still have this weekend to be the next winner of the EAfA awards, you will be invited to the EU Vocational Skills week in Brussels

More than 152 activities has been already registered at the EU Vocational Skills portal. Activities all around Europe which showcase excellence in the Vocational Education and Training. You are all invited to take part, look for some inspiration at the EU Vocational Skills interactive map or find some activities close to your place.

Apprenticeship Alliance meeting in Barcelona
On this occasion partners discussed about online the toolkit which will set up an Apprenticeship Alliance self-assessment tool for anyone interested in apprenticeships.
Healthy Social Media: first steps
Healthy Social Media for Digital Empowerment has launched its new website www.helathysocialmedia.eu. Partners worked together in the first ezine which gathers news items about the relationship of young people and new technologies in Spain and Slovenia.
 
Two new projects about to start
EfVET will be a partner for several Erasmus+ projects the next season. Two are already set up: one will be looking into how to include soft skills in the curriculum of adult learners (ICARO) and the second one will look into how we can encourage youngest to take the initiative in order to support them to increase their chances to find a job (Student Work Experience in Real Life)

Giving better educational opportunities to VET & HE students
3 Vocational High Schools of Santa Coloma de Gramenet (Spain), plus the local municipality and Mundus Association have decided to create a Consortium, which main aim is to give better educational opportunities to VET and HE students of Santa Coloma. iPool: analysis of existing OER tools 
CECE – (Spain)
The second meeting of the Project iPool took place in Florence, Italy, hosted by ACLI partner. After assessing adults’ needs and gathering tools and best practices (IO1) that will be soon comprehended in the online platform,it was time for agreeing on the design of the online pool and on the testing of the target groups, among others.
iPool is focused on the development and uses of Open Educational Resources for low-skilled adults.  
SBIE School on the top ten of Cedefop Photo Award 2017

The SBIE School has been double awarded this last month: thanks to the Education Business Silver Award and by being on the last round of the Cedefop Photo Award 2017 
 
 
Looking for a sustainable mentoring model for refugees integration
Jyväskylä Educational Consortium (Finland) & Hefboom (Belgium) 
In the transnational project MeMoRe, funded by the European Social Fund (ESF), we develop a sustainable transnational mentoring model with a special focus on the integration of low-qualified refugees into the labour market in Flanders and the rest of Europe. In this project the ESF funded partners and projects in Flanders, Finland, Sweden and Germany are involved.

We would like to announced the already confirmed speakers. More will be confirm next week. What it is clear is that the Vocational Education and Training discussions will be moving in October to Thessaloniki.  All our delegates will have the chance not only to share, explore and reflect about the future of VET but to find possible partners or mobility opportunities.
