KICK OFF MEETING IN ESPINHO
The first kick off meeting took place on 24- 25 November 2016at Espinho in Portugal. The project aims to address the skills gap that is within the field of vocational training under the Accessible Tourism. TOUR4ALL careers to the tourism market fairly prosperous and developed but still neglects disabled tourists, now discouraged in focus on their tourist activities due to lack of reception powers by the traditional tourist facilities and their staff. The partnership demonstrates a good mix of skills in European project management, training, quality control, and in the relationship with people with disabilities.
OUTPUT 1

TOUR4ALL training framework and curricula structure will aim at validating and fine-tuning the needs of people with disadvantages and special needs concerning tourism activities. The purpose of the TOUR4ALL training framework and curricula structure will be to lay the foundations for the creation of appropriate knowledge, skills and competences to address this gap in VET tourism courses.
OUTPUT 2

TOUR4ALL resource creation and platform development aims at the conception of a set of practical resources for the VET module on Accessible Tourism. All resources will be available in eLearning format and will also offer the possibility to be implemented into traditional VET courses (face to face) and will be made available in English and all partners’ languages.
IMPLEMENTATION

The TOUR4ALL project - which will last until September 2018 - will implement in the coming months the following activities:
  • Research on tourism and disability with interviews and focus groups to identify needs at the base of the formation.
  • Data collection related to best practices in the field among all partners.
  • Development of training materials in different formats and designed to receive an assessment.
  • Pilot testing of training materials in the partner countries.
During the meeting the partners have reviewed all the main points of the project, both administrative and technical, and shared responsibilities according to their expertise.
