Jesús Fuentes, PE Joins Alta as Senior Associate Engineer in Florida

Jesús Fuentes, PE has joined Alta as Senior Associate Engineer in our West Palm Beach office. Jesús is a detail-oriented civil engineer with more than 17 years of experience in the South Florida region. He has been involved in the inspection, administration, and completion of several transportation projects for FDOT, Miami-Dade Expressway Authority, and the Fort Lauderdale Downtown Development Authority. He is also a mass transit, Complete Streets, and Vision Zero advocate working to create more accessible, walkable, and bikeable places. Under his management as part of the Broward MPO and Palm Beach TPA regional mobility plans, his teams have implemented more than eight miles of buffered bicycle lanes, 11 miles of shared use pathways, 17 miles of conventional bicycle lanes, and 6.7 miles of bikeways on low-volume streets.

Vane Christiansen Joins Alta as Senior Planner in Florida

We are also excited to share that Vane Christiansen has joined Alta as Senior Planner in our West Palm Beach office. Vane is a planner with over five years of industry experience in private and public sectors. Vane graduated from Florida State University with a Master of Science in Planning, and a focus on active transportation. Prior to joining Alta, they served as the Regional Market Manager for the Zagster (now Superpedestrian) micromobility pilot program in Tallahassee, establishing the first bike share in Florida’s capital. Most recently, they served as the Florida Manager for the East Coast Greenway Alliance where they organized the 2020 Southeast Greenways and Trails Summit and led the 2021 update of the Design Guide.
