Detailed planning is underway for the 2016 CSA Annual Conference which will kick off with the Annual General Meeting (AGM) in Antigua on Friday, October 21 and will move straight into the Regatta Organisers’ Conference for the duration of the weekend through Sunday, October 23.

As the conference has grown in size in recent years, the venue for 2016 will be Jolly Beach Resort in Jolly Harbour, Antigua. Elite Island Resorts has recently acquired management of the hotel and begun a complete upgrade of the property.  With full conference facilities in place it will mean that separate private rooms will be available for each of the sessions taking place concurrently.
Over the past few years the Conference has evolved from what was primarily regatta organisers sharing ideas to hosting separate workshops and sessions where measurers, youth development advocates and other sailing professionals as well as regatta directors can network and discuss the opportunities and challenges involved in the sport of sailing and how they impact the region.
For the first time in 2016 emphasis will be put on encouraging all MNA's to attend the Conference which has become such an important event on the CSA annual calendar, to help further develop their regional networking opportunities. The CSA looks forward to working together with all Conference participants and other members to continue to achieve joint objectives.

To register please visit The website includes all necessary information about registration and accommodation. To help us gauge interest in different areas of the Conference among other things we have created a survey that specifically asks for input on the Conference.  We would appreciate if you would take a few minutes to complete the survey. For any other Conference inquiries please email

Plans are falling into place for the Caribbean Dinghy Championships which will be hosted by Sint Maarten Yacht Club this year from October 7-9.  The Club is excited about the event and looks forward to welcoming teams from around the region.  Five teams are registered to date including Trinidad and Tobago, Barbados, BVI, Anguilla and of course St. Maarten as host country.  Antigua Yacht Club has also expressed interest and will be holding qualifiers in an effort to put a team together.  Ariel, Sint Maarten Yacht Club Manager, tells us that trophies have been ordered, t-shirts are being printed, goodie bags for all competitors have been stuffed and weekend meals will be sponsored, allowing for an all-inclusive competitor and coach/parent entry fee.  It's not too late to express interest for this event that will be restricted to six teams but time is running out.  More information is available in the Notice of Race which can be found here or by contacting Neil Maher at

Thanks to the Sint Maarten Yacht Club team for helping to make this a memorable and exciting event for dinghy sailors from around the region.
