Dear Supporter,

As another busy year of fundraising nears the final stretch we are still on target to reach our goal of £40,000 to see out 2014. For those of you who follow our social media pages you would be aware that last Sunday was Liam’s 18th Birthday and although it has been nearly four years since he passed, it is very comforting for myself and my family that many of his friends and those knew him have stayed loyal and joined us in celebrating his big day whilst he continues to look down on us making a positive difference in his memory. I am hoping that this support will continue for the foreseeable future and that if anyone who has any fundraising ideas as an individual or a team wishes to get involved please contact me via a.hearne@theliamcharity.org.uk
So what’s been going on over the past few months, firstly you will be pleased to hear that myself and Mike completed our London Marathon in 6 hours; it was a thoroughly enjoyable experience and we would both like to thank everyone who donated to help us raise over £4,000. The 3rd encounter between AFC Liam and Homies United was held once again at Carshalton Athletic FC where after a tight 90 minutes Homies took the win 4-3 on Penalties; a huge thank you to everyone who attended raising a further £2,500 on the day .Sticking with the topic of football, I am excited to announce that Carshalton Athletic FC have continued their support for a further season with TLC remaining their official charity partner and will soon be displaying the TLC logo on their new home kit. TLC also held our summer comedy night once again supported by Gary Hillock and Team TLCs Daniel Clarke, amongst other professionals which raised another £155 towards the £100,000 target.

There is also a congratulations in store for our Ambassadors Emily Bennett; who passed all of her AS levels and who is now going into her second year of sixth form. Ricky Boylan's years of hard work have finally paid off too and he is now due to contest the English title on 11th October. It goes without saying we wish him the best of luck with this opportunity that will allow him to showcase his undoubted talent on the big stage.

Stuart Wisbeys Tough Mudder
Long term support and Direct of The Stone and Ceramic Warehouse Stuart Wisbey (Below, Far Right) took on the Tough Mudder in May. The Tough Mudder is renowned as one of the toughest endurance events with 12 miles of military-style obstacles to overcome to reach the end.  Stuart was one of the 78% of people who completed the course raising £700 for TLC in the process, he has now set his sights on The London Duathlon which takes place this month!

Rachel and Johns Prudential Ride London
Rachel and her dad John (Below) teamed up to take on the Prudential Ride London, the infamous 100 mile cycle through surrey. Although the weather was far from ideal on the day they both soldiered on through until the end raising £1,400 in the process. Rachel was also awarded as The Liam Charities young person of the year for her efforts in completing the ride as well as her dedication to reaching her fundraising target through various smaller events!

Click to Join Team TLC on the NSPCCs 10 mile London Hack
I am always grateful for any contribution in time or donations but if you fancy taking on your own personal challenge why not join #TeamTLC on 20th September by signing up to the 10 mile London Hack (Click Link Above). For those who like the sights of our capital city its amazing opportunity to avoid the normal hustle and bustle of London’s busy streets whilst making a difference to the lives of others. Its only £10 to sign up and each team member is encouraged to raise a minimum of £75 by directing potential sponsors to the TLC Hack page (https://www.justgiving.com/TLCHack) or encourage them to text donate to 70070 with the code “HACK95” followed by the amount, I hope to see some of you there.

Once again thank you for your continuous support!

With Thanks,

Aaron Hearne
