As hate crimes rise in our country,
IA and interfaith voices advocate for safety
for all persons in Arkansas.

We also need to educate ourselves and advocate for legal protections to all persons, especially those vulnerable to being targeted by individuals and groups driven by hate.

So join Interfaith Arkansas, February 4 at 6:00 p.m. CST via Zoom as we hear from two experts from the Anti-Defamation League on the legal framework of hate crimes legislation. Aaron Ahlquist, Regional Director of the South-Central Region and David L. Barkey National Religious Freedom Counsel, will explore topics such as: Hate Crimes v. Hate Incidents, How Hate Crime Penalty Enhancement Statutes Work, Hate Crime Statistics, Common Hate Crime Myths, the status of current Arkansas Hate Crime Legislation, and background on the work of the ADL.

As we and other leaders work for the passage of laws that enhance sentencing for hate crimes in Arkansas, as currently being debated in the legislature, here's an opportunity to educate ourselves on this important topic and to promote the passage of legislation. Please register at the link below, and share widely in your networks!
