"There are worlds in an opal." -Terri Guillemets
October’s birthstone is prized for its unique “play of colour”—iridescent flashes that sweep across the stone as the angle of viewing changes.

We stock all shapes and sizes in varieties of White Opal, Mexican Fire Opal, Boulder Opal and perhaps the most desirable of all, the Black Opal.  This opal with black or dark gray background makes the spectral colours on top stand out in sharp relief.  Call us for your all your Opal needs at 1-800-811-3366.

Opal History
The Romans gave it a name—opalus—that was synonymous with “precious stone.”  In 75 AD, the Roman scholar Pliny observed, “Some opali carry such a play within them that they equal the deepest and richest colours of painters. Others…simulate the flaming fire of burning sulphur and even the bright blaze of burning oil.” He marvelled that this kaleidoscopic gem encompassed the red of ruby, the green of emerald, the yellow of topaz, the blue of sapphire, and the purple of amethyst.
