The weather has been a bit cooler,
but the the 80° days are still popping up. If you want to be outside, I’ve included some recommendations for you in the D.C. Area. I haven’t blogged or shared much about a couple of these places yet, so you’re one of the first to know!
If you ever need restaurant/sightseeing recommendations or want me to check out a restaurant, feel free to email me at foodishways@gmail.com.
Stay cool,
Kelci

La Gelatteria
Love gelato? I tried La Gelatteria for the first time last week and loved it! They have flavors like Mojito, Tiramisu, Cranberry Orange, and Birthday Cake just to name a few. They also have a Matcha Affogato dessert that’s a tasty twist on the traditional dessert.

Vigilante Coffee
Do you love coffee AND ice cream? Vigilante Coffee’s affogato is the dessert for you. It’s your choice of ice cream “drowned” in a shot of espresso, which is the meaning of the traditional name, “affogato al caffe.”

Goodies Frozen Custard & Treats
If you love donuts and ice cream, Goodies is the place for you. This Black-owned ice cream shop has the treat pictured above, which is an apple cider donut with vanilla frozen custard. I’ve also heard that they added a rumcakewich.

Jeni’s Splendid Ice Creams
Jeni’s is perfect for you if you love innovative flavors. I was accidentally given their Brambleberry Crisp and loved it! The other flavor I tried was Sweet Cream Biscuits & Jam…so good. They also have dairy-free options like Lemon Bar and Texas Sheet Cake.

Note: There are six total locations in the D.C. Metro Area: D.C. (3), Maryland (1), Virginia (2).

The Hall CP
Fall just started, and the cooler weather has finally begun. I recently visited The Hall in College Park, MD because I was on a serious search for a place that had bottomless brunch on Fridays. Their Apple Cider French Toast (pictured) tasted just like fall.
Check it out more about the experience here.
