We are excited to share this newsletter  with you, featuring some of the biggest energy codes news that is taking place across the country at the moment. This issue marks the beginning of our new communication channel that aims to keep our readers - past, present, and future - updated about the happenings in the world of energy codes. Through collaboration with BECP, NASEO and the Regional Energy Efficiency Organizations (REEOs), our revamped newsletter aims to deliver the latest and the most exciting energy codes news and resources to you.

DOE Starts Collecting State Certifications for the Determinations on Energy Codes
In May 31, 2013, the U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) released its determination letters to states, requesting certifications on demonstrating whether the state’s building energy codes’ energy efficiency meet or exceed that of the latest energy codes. Read More 


New and Improved Energy Code Ambassadors Program Launched in Ohio
In May 2013, BCAP and ICC partnered with the Ohio Development Services Agency’s Office of Energy to launch the Ohio Energy Code Ambassador Program (ECAP) in coordination with the Ohio Board of Building Standards. Read More 

DOE Compliance RFI and Comments

The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) closed the extended public comment period for a Request for Information (RFI) seeking DOE's methodology and approaches to building energy code compliance on September 30, 2013. All responses to the DOE RFI on compliance work can now be viewed on the docket, along with instructions on how to access the documents.

Mississippi Off to a Great Energy-Smart Start
Under the guidance of Governor Phil Bryant and the Mississippi Development Authority (MDA), Mississippi is having a very energy-smart year. In April, the Mississippi State Legislature adopted landmark legislation that endorses the state’s investment in energy efficiency infrastructure. Read More
