Hackster Live Ambassador Update

Ambassador Announcements

Many of you have expressed interest in hosting student centered workshops. We have a potential opportunity to partner with the Micro:bit Educational Foundation and Avnet to provide your meetup with micro:bits for educational workshops. This opportunity is still in the discussion/planning phase, and we want to know how many ambassadors would be interested in running student centered workshops. If you are interested in this opportunity please fill out the application here

Apply to be interviewed!
We used to run bi-weekly interviews with ambassadors. We'd love to hear from you about your experiences with hardware creation and technology!
Walabot Updates

Part of how we provide all of our awesome ambassadors with funds for meetups each month is through our partners. Therefore, we need your help to make sure we are giving back to our partners and making sure their money is well spent! Hackster and Walabot are counting on you and your communities to create projects that spark innovation with the Walabot Creator.

A great project starts with a great idea! We have created a spreadsheet for you to write down your ideas and then turn them into projects. Please add any ideas that you or your community members have had for Walabot projects and then get cranking! Send any finished projects links to Monica or Katie.
Each chapter should have a project posted on Hackster by January 31st, 2018.

While projects of all types are encouraged, a special bonus and chance to win prizes awaits if you create a project that integrates with Amazon Alexa. Develop skills that allow you to control your imaging gadget with an Amazon Alexa device and submit your project to our Walabot and Amazon Alexa contest here.

A Train the Trainer webinar was recorded last month and is posted on our YouTube channel here. We also have a #walabot slack channel where you can ask advice directly from Noam from Walabot, or get suggestions from other ambassadors.

Thanks to Gustavo Reynaga's creativity, there is now a Hackster PCB badge. You can find the original designs here.

OSHpark and OSHstencils are generously donating the PCBs and solder masks to Hackster, and we'll be sending the badges and components in 'kit' form to each of you! You'll get a chance to practice your solder mask skills while building this cool badge.

OSHpark is only making 10 a week. The first batch goes to 'kudos' ambassadors.

Hackster Bogotá held a Rasperry Pi and Arduino 101 meetup this month, complete with a Hackster branded cake! Check out some of the photos below.

NashMicro held a soldering workshop during the two day mini maker fair in Nashville, TN and helped kids assemble close to 300 soldering kits!

Walabot Projects

Thanks to Andres Sabas and the folks at The Inventor's House in Mexico for working on these two Walabot projects on Hackster! They're in Spanish, so they're not on the main site, but I've dug them up for you.
