Echo Show playing a CNET Alexa flash briefing
That's me getting my morning flash briefing.

2 simple ways Alexa can up your productivity:

#1. Alexa flash briefings provide your daily news in just a few minutes

If your mornings are crunched for time, you’ll love getting news via Alexa flash briefings. They're short 2-4 minute clips and available from thousands of news sources -- from NPR to BBC to even your local TV station. Tap/click here to see how to easily choose flash briefings to add to your personal flash briefing list. Then just say "Alexa, play my flash briefing."

Pro Tip: You can add as many flash briefings as you'd like. And since the clips are so short, you'll be able to fit in a few as you go through your morning routine.

#2. Linking your calendar to Alexa enables hands-free time management

Need to add a new event to your calendar? Put your phone down and give hands-free a try! Alexa integrates with all popular calendars, making it easier than ever to hear your daily schedule or even create an event. Tap/click here for the easy steps to link your calendar to Alexa. Once complete, try "Alexa, what's on my schedule today?" or "Alexa, schedule lunch with Susie on August 10th at noon" (insert your event, date and time).

All you have to do is open the Alexa app > tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner > tap "Settings" > tap "Alexa Privacy" > tap "Manage How Your Data Improves Alexa" > toggle off "Help Improve Amazon Services and Develop New Features."

You could previously opt out of having your Alexa recordings used to improve Alexa, but now by opting out your voice recordings will not be included in any programs that involve human review of Alexa requests.
