In Brief Mode, Alexa gives you shorter responses

Plus, Alexa stops saying "OK" every time you ask her to do something

When Brief Mode is enabled, Alexa replaces her usual “OK” responses with a short chime sound. If you’re like me, you'll love Brief Mode.

Pro Tip: This awesomely convenient feature is especially game-changing if you use Alexa to control smart home devices -- now, you can ask Alexa to turn the lights on and off without hearing Alexa say "OK" every time.

Do This Now: Enable Brief Mode (takes 30 seconds)

Just follow these simple steps:

  1. Open your Alexa app
  2. Tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Tap "Voice Responses"
  5. Toggle "Brief Mode" on

Pro Tip: Check out 8 other easy settings that will make Alexa work better for you. Set-up for each one is ultra-quick and well worth it!

Ever thought you'd be able to tie your sneakers with your... voice?

You can now tighten and release the ties of Nike's new Adapt Huarache sneakers using your voice with Apple's Siri assistant! There is a small motor in the middle of the shoes, and once you've connected them to an app on your Apple Watch or iPhone, you can control tightening and loosening the laces with your voice! Sounds like fun! Tap/click here to read mores.
