3 ways Alexa announcements make your life easier

#1. You'll never need to go room-to-room to let everyone know that dinner's ready

Instead, just say "Alexa, announce that dinner is ready" to broadcast the message over all the Echo devices across your home.

#2. Use an announcement next time you're trying to reach someone at home but they're not picking up

You can easily broadcast Alexa announcements across your home's Alexa speakers via the Alexa app on your phone too! Just open the Alexa app > tap "Communicate" on the bottom navigation bar > tap "Announce" > tap the microphone icon and say your message (such as "I'm calling, pick up!") > tap the arrow button to broadcast it.

#3. Add announcements to Alexa routines to help keep a busy household on schedule

Trying to keep multiple kids on schedule? Set up Alexa routines that run at the same time each week and announce things like "Susie, time to get ready for soccer practice, we're leaving in 15 minutes!" every Sunday before practice or "Johnny, don't forget to practice violin before tomorrow's lesson!"

At the Westin Buffalo hotel, access your Alexa account on your room's Echo speaker

The Westin Buffalo hotel just became the first hotel where guests can access their Alexa profile via the Echo speaker in their hotel room.

This means that you can now easily play music and playlists from your Spotify, Pandora, etc. account in your hotel room just by asking Alexa. Your personal information and activity history are deleted when you check out.

The hotel first put Echo speakers in 115 hotel rooms in 2017 so that guests could easily get information about the hotel and its amenities or ask for recommendations on activities.
