2 surprisingly fun ways to use Alexa Skill Blueprints with kids

With Alexa Skill Blueprints, you can easily create stories customized just for your child. Simply edit easy-to-use Alexa Skill Blueprint templates ranging from “Moon Landing” to “The Sea Princess” to "Spelling Bee" and more.

#1. Join forces with NASA to send your kid on a top-secret mission to the moon

Hop aboard and rocket through outer space in an inspiring sci-fi adventure. Tap/click here to access the Moon Landing template and customize the character names and narrative as you'd like. Once you've named and created your new skill blueprint, gather ‘round and say “Alexa, open (insert your moon landing story name)” to share how your kid’s epic journey changed the world.

#2. Create your own fairy tale

Once upon a time in an enchanted land, a powerful princess took command. But then a wicked witch aimed to end her reign, wishing in vain to grab her gain: “Mirror, mirror on the wall, who’s the smartest of them all?” With an interactive Alexa fairy tale, you can reimagine classic storylines or invent your own. Tap/click here to access the Fairy Tale template, then follow the prompts to edit the character names and add cool sound effects (you can even edit the narrative if you'd like). When you're finished editing, create your new skill blueprint and then say “Alexa, open (insert your fairy tale’s name)” to enter your child’s magical tale.

Pro Tip: Name the prince and princess after your children for a royal moment they will love. To do this, just fill in the template blanks with their names.

Don't know where to put your Echo Dot? Here's a great solution:

For $13, you can get this simple outlet mount for your 3rd generation Echo Dot. This is an especially handy option if you want to add a Dot to your bathroom where space is often limited. I recently put a Dot in my bathroom, and I love using it to listen to music in the shower and get my flash briefing while I brush my teeth!
