Asking Alexa what's on your calendar is super helpful

Just say "Alexa, what's on my calendar tomorrow?"

Or in place of tomorrow say "later today," "next Wednesday" or a specific date. You can also easily add calendar events by saying "Alexa, add calendar event for next Thursday at noon for lunch with Jane."

Being able to ask Alexa what's on your calendar means there's one less thing you need to pull out your phone for. And, if you have an Echo Show, it will even show your upcoming calendar events (I'm looking at mine on my Echo Show in the photo above!).

Do This Now: Follow these easy set-up steps to link your calendar to Alexa:

  1. Open your Alexa app
  2. Tap the hamburger icon in the upper left corner
  3. Tap "Settings"
  4. Scroll down and tap "Calendar & Email"
  5. Tap "Add Account"
  6. Tap your calendar service name (Google, Microsoft, Apple, etc.)
  7. Toggle "Calendar" on (you can set Email linking on or off, it's up to you)
  8. Tap "Connect Account"
  9. Follow simple account linking flow

Is Dr. Alexa ready to see you now?

Last year, Alexa became HIPAA-compliant, ushering in the beginning of a new era for how we as patients will receive healthcare and interact with the entire healthcare system. For example, you could ask Alexa health-related questions, refill a prescription or make an appointment with your doctor.

With Alexa, many tasks related to managing our healthcare become much easier. However, there are still many security and compliance concerns and practical limitations that will need to be addressed before voice technology in healthcare goes mainstream. Tap/click here to read the the details.
