Just open the Alexa app!
Forgot to turn off a light at home? Or want to listen to your flash briefing on your morning commute? Just open the Alexa app > tap the "Alexa" icon in the middle of the bottom navigation bar and start talking!
Pro Tip #1: When making Alexa requests via the Alexa app, you don't need to say "Alexa" before your command. So if you want to listen to a flash briefing, tap the "Alexa" icon in the middle of the bottom navigation bar of the Alexa app and then say "listen to my flash briefing!"
Pro Tip #2: For the most seamless way to access Alexa on-the-go, get a pair of the brand new Echo Buds (currently 30% off!). With these buds in your ear, you can just start talking to Alexa when you're out and about the same way you do on your Echo speaker at home.
3 ways to use Alexa on-the-go:
- Catch up on the latest on your commute: Just say "Play my flash briefing!" For flash briefing newbies, flash briefings are 2-4 minute "mini-podcasts," come in almost every flavor you can think of and are a perfect (and fast) way to get daily updates on the topics you care about. - Sneak in a quick workout: Say "Open 7-minute workout!" for 7 minutes of exercises to improve your core strength, flexibility, energy and mood.
- Play a game on-the-go! Say "Play Song Quiz" or "Open Bamboo Luminaries" -- just insert the Alexa game of your choice!
